Thank you for visiting the new website for Field Pest Control, a pest control company serving the Indianapolis area. Our pest control technicians are highly trained exterminators who are also local firefighters. In fact, since 1956 Field Pest control has been owned and operated by Indianapolis firefighters. Since 1991, the company has been owned by Kevin Witt and his family.
Though termites can invade your home or business any time of year, spring is traditionally the season in Indianapolis when property owners find advanced infestations.
April and May are known as the height of termite infestations because they are the time when the temperature allows termites to begin swarming out of nests to build new colonies. Termite swarms look a lot like flying ants, but homeowners should be wary.
Termite Swarm Tips

- Find out if they came from your property. Termites live underground and often tunnel into your house to use the wood for food. Look for tunnels made of mud and if the swarming termites seem to be around your property, call us to see if your home is infested.
- If you notice termite swarms in your neighborhood, call fields for an inspection.
Inspection
Homeowners should always have Fields do regular inspections of their property for a variety of reasons, including pests. With termites, look for mud tubes, sawdust, paint bubbles on walls, or small holes in exposed wood.
When to Contact Field Pest Control
- If there is any chance termites are coming from your property, call us for an inspection as the damage termites are capable of can be enormous. Our exterminators use unmarked vehicles to protect your privacy.
- If the termites appear to be coming from a neighboring property, inform your neighbor about it immediately and please pass along our information. If the property is wooded or natural, or the swarms happen regularly, you will want to arrange for annual inspections.
- Though it can take years for termites to cause structural damage, consider installing a bait system in your yard to serve as both a warning sign and trap to kill termites. The bait stations can show us signs of activity and any termites feeding from them will spread poison to the colony.
